In addition our popular recreational Youth League and Camps, we also run the the largest set of competitive youth Ultimate programs in Canada! Teams in these programs strive to compete in Provincial and National championships.
We have 4 youth clubs who cater to the competitive team based (Open and Women divisions) youth Ultimate programs -
Misfit - Vancouver - misfit@vul.ca
Reign - Richmond - reign@vul.ca
Canyon - North Vancouver - canyon@vul.ca
Vortex - Surrey - vortex@vul.ca
Each of these 4 youth clubs will run three types of programs -
Development - No tryouts needed, may attend a tournament. The goal is to get the kids a feel of training in a team based environment and introducing them to more competitive aspect of Ultimate
Regional team - Tryouts required, will attend Misfit Cup on 22-23 June and BC regionals on 6-7th July and may be one more tournament. Regional teams don't aim to qualify for nationals. Prior experience of playing Ultimate at elementary school level is ideal.
Touring team - Tryouts required, will attend all the competitions similar to Regional teams and will aim to qualify for Nationals in Ottawa this year. Ideally 1-2 years of prior Ultimate competitive experience is required to get into these teams.
Players register as individuals, and the VUL organizes and manages teams based on the player's skill level and their desire for competition and travel. All players must be under 19.
We do not want cost to be a barrier to participation. Please visit our Financial Assistance page for a list of agencies that support youth sport participation through individual grants.
