A summer tradition for ultimate players in Vancouver, Shades N' Hats is a Hat Format tournament. Players sign up as individuals or duos and are randomly assigned a team before the start of the tournament.
Perfect for beginner to intermediate players, Shades N' Hats is a fun tournament that makes it easy to meet new people. It's a great chance to connect with players from around the Vancouver Ultimate community and to experience the excitement of tournament play—especially for those who haven’t had the opportunity before.
Playing Info for 2026
- Date: Saturday, July 18, 2026
- Format: Hat 7 on 7 or 5 on 5 depending on numbers
- Duration: One day tournament
- Schedule:
- Games start at 9:00 a.m.
- Games finished at 5:00 p.m.
- Teams will get a minimum of four games over the day
- Location: Winona Park
- Age: 19+, or 17+ with parental consent.
- Inclusivity: All players are welcome.

Joining this Event
- Register for placement as a single, duo, or trio. If space permits, we'll build teams of free agents. Duos must have at least one women-matching player. We will try to place duos on the same team, but cannot guarantee it.
