Women-matching players interested in pursuing their coaching certification can kick start their coaching career by attending this free two-day NCCP Ultimate Competition – Introduction Clinic offered by BC Ultimate.
BCU and the VUL would like to thank viaSport for making funding for this clinic available through the LeadForward Grant, which aims to strengthen balanced leadership for women-matching coaches, officials, or organizational staff throughout BC.
This an excellent opportunity to start your coaching journey under the guidance of a woman-matching learning facilitator.
Program
Date: March 23 & 24, 2024
Location: St Thomas More Collegiate, 7450 12th Ave, Burnaby
Time: 8:30 am to 4:30pm - both days
Course limit: First 20 registrants
Ultimate Competition - Introduction
Designed for coaches 16+ years of age who work with U18 competitive players (e.g. high school competitive programs, competitive junior programs) or adult developmental teams programs. The participants will understand learning styles and appropriate feedback through hands on activities. They will learn how to identify and correct common Ultimate errors, and how to lead drills for Ultimate.

- Key factors in assessing the effectiveness of coaches
- Components of effective learning using Ultimate skills
- Different approaches to teaching skills
- Running an Ultimate specific drill, and planning a new activity
