Vancouver Fall High School 5-on-5 League

League information and registration for Fall 2026 will be live by August 17, 2026 - 12:00 PST

Overview:

Keep your summer team rolling into the Fall!

Did you play with your school friends, or on a summer club team like Misfit, Canyon, Vortex, Reign etc.? This league is the perfect way to stay together. Gather your teammates, sign up as a team, and keep building on the chemistry and friendships you’ve already made. Whether you’re coming from a Misfit program or forming a brand-new crew, everyone’s welcome.

Why 5-on-5?

  • Fast & Fun: The smaller field and fewer players keep the game moving and guarantee lots of touches.

  • Always Involved: With subs on the fly, you’ll stay active and engaged from start to finish.

  • Skill Growth: The best way to improve is by playing. With constant touches and quick decisions, you’ll develop fundamentals while experimenting with new throws and strategies in real game situations.

New this year!

  • Important Contacts:
    • Lead coordinator (LC) for the league - Danie Proby
    • Onsite coordinators for the league - TBD
  • Individual Registration: Participants who don't have a team can sign up for the league using this option. Fees will be $100 per participant (incl. VUL membership and GST) for the entire season. The LC will do their best to:
    • Option 1 : Place you on an existing team roster (the VUL will transfer $30 from your fees to the team accepting) OR
    • Option 2 : With enough individual sign-ups, we may even create a brand new team. The LC may nominate one of the parents/guardians from the individual registrations to lead the team.
    • If both the options don't workout for this season, then we will fully refund you the individual registration fee.
    • Once the teams are settled, each team needs to monitor and ensure fair playing time for each individual on the team.
  • Team Registration: Teams who can ensure a minimum of 12 participants on their roster should register with this option.
    • Roster min = 12, Roster maximum = 18, This has bee introduced to ensure that there is a fair balance in team numbers and playing time.
    • There will be an option to pay $100 deposit to reserve spot. Full fees are due before the deadline.
    • There is an incentive of $30 per participant that your team may add from individual registrations. This process will be facilitated by the LC. Incentives will be administered at the end of the season via refund.
    • Location updates - Be sure to register early to secure your spot at Location 1. If more than 8 teams register, then LC will make a decision to open up Location 2 to accommodate these teams (provided that we have atleast 4 teams for the new location). Until then the extra teams will be waitlisted (refer Important Dates section for more details)

How to register

All players should be in high school, from age 14 to 18 (grade 8-12, as of December 31 this year). However, we will consider younger kids joining on a case-by-case basis.

Complete these steps to register:

To register a team, all registration is done online. Payment can be made online with a credit card, VISA Debit, or  e-transfer before the end of the registration. Only the Captain/Chaperone needs to pay the Team fee (players pay the Captain/Chaperone).

After registering your team:

  1. Captains must complete their rosters by inviting players to join their team. See Help for instructions. Players will be asked to agree to the Statement of Consent and confirm that they have Parental Consent to play. All players must be rostered before games start.
  2. If your team is providing their own Chaperone, Chaperones must complete a Conduct Form, then scan this completed document and send it to the Youth Manager before the league starts.
  3. All Chaperones and Team Captains must attend the Captain's Meeting. This will be a quick meeting to discuss the logistics of the league and expectations about conduct and fair play.

If you have a question, check out our Youth FAQ for answers. If you still need Help, email youth@vul.ca
